In the heart of the Meadowlands, sunny and sweet,
The bunnies grew carrots in rows, neat and neat.
Each had a garden, a dream, and a plan:
"Grow heaps of carrots — the best in the land!"
Benny McHare raised his paw with a cheer,
"This will be the grandest carrot-filled year!"
So every young bunny dug holes by the score,
Planting and planting... and planting some more.
The rains fell in buckets, the sun beamed with pride,
The carrots exploded — there was no place to hide!
Mountains of carrots rolled down every hill,
Tumbling and bouncing — kabump! — with a will.
At first there were giggles, and dances, and cheers —
"Look at our harvest! It's bigger than years!"
But soon came the puddles, the jams, and the streams,
And carrots invading their houses and dreams!
They clogged up the rivers and blocked all the doors,
They tumbled through windows and rolled across floors!
"Who wants to buy carrots?" cried Bree with a shout.
"I'll sell you a dozen — just haul them all out!"
"I'll throw in a basket!" said Marley with glee.
"I'll pay you in acorns — just please rescue me!"
But no one was buying. The market was stuck.
The carrots kept coming — they ran out of luck.
Old Nanny Nibble just shook her wise head:
"You planted too many, just like I said.
When everyone's selling the very same stuff,
No matter how tasty — it's never enough."
The bunnies sat quiet, in mountains of orange,
Their dreams feeling heavy, their hopes feeling strange.
They'd pictured bright riches, they’d pictured bright fame —
Instead they felt silly, with no one to blame.
But lessons like carrots grow deep when they're sown,
And sometimes mistakes plant the best seeds we've known.
Next spring they gathered, with plans freshly made,
They measured, they counted, they plotted, they weighed.
Their gardens were smaller, their carrots were bright,
And selling their harvest brought fairer delight.
And best of all — without carrot blockades —
They danced through the meadows their wiser plans made!
🌟 Moral:
When everyone grows the same thing, it loses its worth.
Smart planting — and careful planning — help dreams truly grow!
🌱 Did You Know?
When farmers, builders, or businesses make too much of something — like carrots, toys, or games — it’s called a surplus.
When there's more supply than demand, prices drop — and sometimes sellers even lose money!
That's why smart planners today match what they grow or build to what people truly want — just like the bunnies learned after the big carrot flood.
